About us

The CPD Cluj movement began on March 17, 2023, initiated by a group of mental health specialists and caregivers/family members of individuals with dementia, who formed the core of this community.

CPD Cluj is a pilot project that we aim to develop at a national level because:

  • Individuals with dementia and their caregivers face stigma.
  • Individuals with dementia and their caregivers face stigma.
  • Individuals with dementia and their caregivers feel isolated, confused, and helpless.
  • Individuals with dementia and their caregivers experience physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion.
  • Individuals with dementia and their caregivers have the right to dignity.

Objectives

  1. Developing the community's capacity to support individuals diagnosed with dementia and their caregivers to live as integrated as possible in the community.
  2. Increasing awareness about dementia and reducing the associated stigma.
  3. Creating a set of tools designed to enable the sustainability of the dementia-friendly community beyond the scope of the specific project, expanding and spreading at a regional and national level.
  4. Developing a regional network for increased access to social services dedicated to individuals with dementia.
  5. Improving the quality of life for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.

To assist communities in working towards becoming dementia-friendly, CPD Cluj provides technical assistance, including a set of community tools and specific guidance for those who wish to get involved in this endeavor.
